For me, health and wellness coaching and healthy weight loss is not so people can be “skinny” as written about in magazines. For me, it’s about health (both physical and mental) and as a way to prevent cancer, Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease. But let’s talk about the mental health part of weight loss. Far too many girls (and boys) let weight and body image control their lives and it stops them from fulfilling their dreams and potential. I never want that to happen. That is my "why" for being a health and wellness coach.

I want to erase the word "HAPPY" and replace it with "JOY!" What is happy? The key to life is finding "JOY" in any situation. I have seen people I know and love face the most horrific experiences that anyone could ever imagine: losing children to gun violence, terrorism, cancer, facing stage 4 diagnoses. The one thing I've found that keeps them getting up each morning putting one foot in front of the other is their why, their passionate purpose and meaning that leads to JOY. They use their unimaginable experiences to help others and solve the problem that created their despair through awareness, funding research, fighting unjust laws and governments etc. Happiness is bullshit. Find and pursue your meaning, passionate purpose and you will have lived a good, meaningful and JOY filled life.

It energizes  me with a renewed sense of purpose and meaning and will hopefully do the same for you.

In my opinion, "Letter From A Birmingham Jail"  ranks up there with the Gettysburg Address, the Constitution and Declaration of Independence as one of the most brilliant and meaningful documents ever written. It is a call to action for people to dig deep within themselves and have the courage to st...
